Summit Entertainment announced today that Bryce Dallas Howard will take over the role of “Victoria” in the studio’s upcoming production of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. Actress, Rachelle Lefevre, who portrayed the character in TWILIGHT as well as the upcoming release of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made. THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE will start filming in Vancouver this coming August.THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, the third film in the studio’s TWILIGHT film franchise based on Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster book series, will be directed by David Slade from a screenplay written by Melissa Rosenberg. The film will be released theatrically in North America on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” said Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions. “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”Howard most recently starred in TERMINATOR SALVATION as Kate Connor and has been seen in SPIDER-MAN 3, LADY IN THE WATER, and THE VILLAGE. ReplyDeleteShe really wasn't a great actress, I think this new girl will succeed where Rachel failed. It does suck that they have to replace someone but that is what happens when 'someone' signs a contract before looking at the schedule. I know she has to be kicking herself in the ass right about now. I think they were trying to get rid of her anyway. Thats is why she only had like two speaking scenes in the first Twilight movie. Pluse I think she is like 10 years older than everyone else in the movie... Oh well you win some and you lose some...

awww im sad Rachel isnt comming back! she made victoria who she was in the movie! But this new girl better be able to do what Rachel did and really bring vitoria to life in this movie as amazing as Rachel did!

I agree. I am truly disappointed that Rachelle Lefevre is not playing Victoria. I do not see how Bryce Howard Dallas can turn into the bad girl. Rachelle had is nailed in her looks, demeanor and her presence. Dallas seems far to innocent to be Victoria. Unfortunately, I am too into the books to boycott the movie. Regardless of the poor choice they made replacing Victoria I will still see the movie.
ReplyDeleteim didappointed to that Rachelle Lefevre is not playing Victoria do to the fact i believe she played the part well, but idk who this Dallas person is but i hope you do well and if not it will be truly disappointing to me as a Twilight fan of both the books and movie if she does not fit the part and does not forfull the character just as Rachelle Lefever did in Twilight and in New Moon and if this is Ms. Dallas page i hope you do well
